  Description  
Through two in-depth case studies, this introductory course provides you with the techniques necessary for completing the sales comparison and income capitalization approaches of the valuation process. You will develop and apply qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques as well as organize and reconcile data.

• HP-12C calculator. Note: Cellular phones, tablets, iPads, and other devices that connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam.
• You must be familiar with calculator operation when the course begins. Answers to problems in course material are shown using the HP-12C. Do not come to class expecting to be taught how to use a financial calculator.

Students must sign a waiver at the beginning of the course stating that they have the prerequisites. If they do not, they will not hold the Appraisal Institute responsible and will not expect to receive special attention during the course.

ENROLLMENT
Enrollment is on a first-come, first served basis. If the event is filled, a waiting list will be retained. The San Diego Chapter reserves the rights to cancel, limit, or reschedule any event if the minimum enrollment level is not reached, and to change faculty assignments and facility locations at any time. Prospective students should confirm their registration with the Chapter office before making any non-refundable airline reservations. Transfers are not allowed.

ATTENDANCE
The Appraisal Institute enforces attendance requirements mandated by state licensing and certification regulatory agencies. The Appraisal Institute issues certificates for state certification/licensing or state continuing education credit that verify successful completion and attendance of 100%, with your grade notification letter for courses, or at the conclusion of some seminars. One hundred percent (100%) attendance is required for all Appraisal Institute education programs. This follows Appraiser Qualification Board minimum criteria requirements.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS
Some offerings have required textbooks. Be sure to read the course or seminar description to find out if there are any required textbooks for this offering. There will not be any textbooks for purchase at the class. Students must purchase any required textbooks prior to the start date of the offering.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Some offerings require each student to bring a laptop and/or other equipment. Be sure to read the course or seminar description to determine if any equipment is required. Students are responsible for safeguarding their equipment and personal belongings at all times. The Appraisal Institute, the San Diego Chapter, the course or seminar Instructor, or the facility will not be responsible for any loss of students’ personal belongings.

CLASS MATERIALS TO DOWNLOAD
Some offerings are now available with downloadable materials. If a student opted to download materials instead of having materials direct shipped, the student will be required to bring the materials to class on a laptop. All students must have their own set of the materials to receive any credit for the class. Extra copies of materials will not be available at the class.

ADA COMPLIANCE
It is the policy of the Appraisal Institute to provide reasonable accommodations for qualified persons with disabilities who are participating in Appraisal Institute educational programs. If any student needs accommodations to participate because of a disability, please notify the Chapter office in writing at least two weeks in advance of the program and reasonable accommodations will be arranged. Without two weeks’ notice, accommodation may not be available.

COMPLETION CERTIFICATES
For scannable exams, written notification of results will be sent via email to the examinee approximately 15 business days from the date of receipt of the exams at the national office. Certificates of completion for continuing education, if the offering is an Appraisal Institute-developed seminar, will be distributed via email within 15 business days after completion of the seminar. Certificates of completion for Chapter-developed seminars will be distributed at the conclusion of the class. Express Grading for scannable exams is available. June 24: Course 8:30 am to 3:00 pm / Exam 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

LOCATION: Class will be held on the University of San Diego campus, located at 5998 Alcala Park, in classroom Avila B-100, San Diego, California 92110.

The temperature in classrooms sometimes fluctuates, so dressing in layers is recommended.

PARKING ON CAMPUS: Information about parking on campus and how to purchase a parking permit will be emailed to all students approximately three weeks before the first day of class.

COURSE MATERIALS: Course materials for all students who elected to receive printed materials will be distributed at check in. If you elected to download electronic course materials, be sure and bring them with you to class each day on a laptop or reader. All students, whether they selected to receive printed materials or selected to download electronic materials, will have access to electronic course materials via the Knowledge Center on the Appraisal Institute website immediately after registration.

CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION will be e-mailed from National headquarters in Chicago within fifteen business days of the completion date of the course.
