Change is constant and there is plenty going on related to real estate in North Wilmington, specifically Brandywine Hundred. Concord Pike traffic counts are in excess of 55,000 vehicles per day and, even with economic downturns, has maintained its competitiveness as a prime retail and office location. Supporting residential uses are located off Concord Pike with additional development limited to in-fill sites and residential opportunities. Planners for the Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) will discuss findings of their recent commissioned land use assessment of the Concord Pile corridor. Mr. Hare from BPG will speak on the background and phased redevelopment of the Concord Plaza office park into a mixed-use walkable development with a mix of residential, ground level retail and office uses. In addition, we’ll tour of the Concord Plaza and the recently constructed apartments as we discuss these new real estate ventures. We will discuss the following announced large-scale developments happening along Route 202, including:
• Concord Plaza (developed by BPG)
• Avenue North (developed by Delle Donne and Associates, Inc.)
• Columbia Place (developed by the Reybold Group)
We will also discuss the Brandywine Country Club’s proposed redevelopment and the proposed sale and redevelopment of the Widner Law School campus.
