Join us for the second annual joint offering co-sponsored by the Northern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and Real Estate Appraiser Association (REAA).

This one-day residential appraisal conference is specifically designed for the independent boots-on-the-ground field appraisers. The morning will include three different topics that will keep you at the forefront of our changing appraisal profession. We will start with a discussion of the Emerging Designs and Trends homebuilders are including in new home developments; a Bay Area/Sacramento Housing Market Update; and what developers are doing to help the housing crisis. The second session with help us understand the changes occurring in the appraisal profession with Hybrid Appraisals, Team Appraising and Market Share Shifts and how technology can help us stay relevant and competitive. We will wrap-up the morning with a session to help us successfully navigate the stormy waters and be Regulatory Compliant with a review of actual complaints filed against appraisers; what you need to know to get the proper legal assistance you might need; and the anatomy of the complaint process with real life case studies.

The afternoon will continue the discussions focused on keeping up to date with the changes impacting our day-to day-business. We will return to the changes happening in the building industry by taking a look at the new California Solar Mandate and other rigorous building code Efficiency Standards; what the HERS index is and why you need to know about it; “Healthy Homes” and the valuation tools and tips available to you. We will end the day with a session providing ways to replace the 1004MC with Market Analysis data tailored to each specific assignment by looking at how to determine the Critical Parameters, Sources of Data, and how we Communicate Market Results.

Both the Real Estate Appraisers Association (REAA) and the Appraisal Institute (AI) are dedicated to promoting professional development of their professionals and all real estate appraisers. Conference Materials and Hours
On-site distribution of the conference materials and continental breakfast will begin at 8:00a.m. on Friday, May 3. The conference will run from 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. Refreshments and lunch will also be provided.

Laptops are not required. Those choosing to bring laptops/tablets should bring their own extension cords / power strips. Electrical outlets in the meeting room are very limited. All registrants are encouraged to bring pen/pencil and paper/tablet for taking notes. Onsite Internet access cannot be guaranteed.

Education Credit Hours
Full (100%) attendance is required for education credit; partial credit not available.

Appraisal Institute: AI Designated Members, Candidates and Affiliates will receive 35 AI CEC points.

BREA Continuing: The 2019 Northern California RESIDENTIAL APPRAISAL Conference has been approved for 7-hours of BREA continuing education credit (#19CP754601369) for licensed/certified appraisers seeking BREA CEC.

BREA Basic/Qualifying: The 2019 Northern California RESIDENTIAL APPRAISAL Conference is designed solely as a CE offering and is therefore not approved for BREA basic / qualifying education credit.

SBE: The 2019 Northern California RESIDENTIAL APPRAISAL Conference is being submitted for 7-hours of SBE training credit; full (100%) attendance is required.
