Chapter Luncheon - The Valuation of High Performance “Green” Properties

The Clubhouse Restaurant, 298 Oakbrook Center, Oakbrook, IL 60523

This panel discussion will introduce participants to the history of and valuation methods for appraising high performance “green” houses and commercial properties. Those in attendance will get a history of the development and implementation of International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and the 2018 IECC adoption by the State of Illinois and Local Municipalities, as well as, the current standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured - Home Energy Rating System (HERS).

The attendees will be presented with a customized presentation by Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) for how they could use features and functions of the connectMLS™ system, as well as, additional MRED products to locate comparable properties and calculate the market value of high-performance homes. This training will provide tips and tricks for searching for relevant energy efficient items and instruction for utilizing the HERS Index provide by MRED for appraising high-performance homes.

In addition, a discussion on Remine, the new intelligence platform for Appraisers and Realtors, delivered through the Connect MLS system for analyzing property records, transactional history and consumer data.
