Appraisal Institute Education Trust College Scholarships

Requirements and Procedures
  1. Deadline
    • Application must be received before April 15.
  2. Eligibility
    • Applicant must be a student majoring in real estate appraisal, land economics, real estate or allied fields.
    • Applicant must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Masters Candidate or Doctoral Candidate.
    • Applicant must be a full or part-time student at a U.S. degree granting college or university.
    • Applicant must have a strong academic record.
    • Scholarship award must be used in the same academic year it is awarded.
    • Eligible recipients may receive only one (1) AIET Scholarship per year.
  3. Required
    • Two-hundred (200) word personal statement discussing academic achievements, financial need, career aspirations, involvement in real estate field, and any qualifications considered relevant by the applicant.
    • Current Resume (Preference given to applicants with an appraisal internship).
    • Copies of all college transcripts.
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation attesting to applicant’s work ethic, character and pursuit of career in real estate appraisal, land economics, real estate or allied fields.
  4. Awards
    • Graduate Scholarship - $2,000
    • Undergraduate Scholarship: $1,000
    • Minorities & Women Education Scholarship: $1,000
  5. Award Process
    • Any awards granted will be paid directly to the Academic Institution identified on the application and may be used for tuition only.
  6. Awards
    • Complete the following application.
    • Upload any supporting documents required in the "III. Required" (i.e. transcript and resume)
    • All portions of the application must be completed and all information supplied must be accurate, otherwise the application will not be eligible for consideration.

I hereby apply for an Appraisal Institute Education Trust College Scholarship. I understand that disbursement from the Appraisal Institute’s Education Trust will be made only for tuition connected with my program of study in the next academic year. I understand that an Appraisal Institute Education Trust College Scholarship is granted for the sole purpose of assisting me in securing a degree with a major emphasis on real estate valuation and related subjects, and that the scholarship may be revoked at any time that my academic work falls below the acceptable standards established by the Appraisal Institute Education Trust. I represent that all information in this application and the accompanying documents are true and accurate, and that any false information provided therein can result in the disqualification of my application or the revocation of the scholarship. Should any such information change after the date of this application, I will immediately notify the Appraisal Institute Education Trust. I understand that the Appraisal Institute Education Trust will consider my application along with the applications of others for a limited number of scholarships and that submission of an application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded. I hereby irrevocably waive any claim or cause of action at law or equity that I might have at any time against the Appraisal Institute Education Trust, its Board of Directors, officers, committees, or employees, as a group or as individuals and against the Appraisal Institute, its Board of Directors, officers, committees, or employees, as a group or as individuals for any act or failure to act in connection with this application or scholarship program. Should I receive a scholarship, I hereby grant the Appraisal Institute Education Trust and the Appraisal Institute the right to use my name, likeness and information from this application, and to otherwise profile me in marketing materials and other publicity.

By signing this application electronically, you hereby consent and agree that your electronic signature constitutes your acceptance and agreement to this application’s terms and conditions as if actually signed by you in writing and that your electronic signature has the same legal force and effect as a signature affixed by hand. Further, you agree that the lack of a certification authority or other third party verification will not in any way affect the validity or enforceability of your electronic signature or any resulting contract between you and the Appraisal Institute's Education Trust.
