Topics discussed in a panel format will include various subjects related to the tax appeal and litigation process; such as fee simple versus leased fee valuations, highest and best use and corresponding selection of lease and sale comparables. Other topics covered will be USPAP compliance in court, licensing and its relevance in court, market value in court, discussions of contingent fees, going concern values and new construction. In conjunction with these topics a series of case studies will be presented to illustrate relevant discussion points including Walgreens versus the town of West Hartford, Nolan versus the town of Milford, the Wheelabrator case study and Redding Life Care case study.
